November’s theme is hope. Dictionary.com defines hope as “the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.” To me, hope is synonymous with artist. Because when you’re an artist you are always hoping that the next thing you create will “break” you. You are always hoping that the next thing you create will make it so that you don’t have to work your crappy part time job or eat top Ramen at home anymore. It can be down right put a gun to your head suicidal when things don’t go as planned (and they never do). But for me, one of the best things about being an artist is that every morning when I wake up there is HOPE that it can be the greatest day of my life (I sold a screenplay), a bad day (more rejections), or just another day slaving away in front of my computer working on something I love. How many other people on the nine to five cubical grind can say the same thing with a straight face?
Teruo Artistry is a company made of hope. Hope for every artist out there trying to create something from nothing.
