Teruo was in the building again last week for David Banner's performance at the House Of Blues. I met up with my peeps from the station and The Firm at Banner's room a suite at the Mondrion (RIP PIMP C) across from the HOB. I step up in the spot and several websites are shooting video segments one at a time asking Banner about the new album, cartoon and the check from Lil Wayne's album. My favorite response was that he had just bought a chokain whit Phantom and its parked out front from publishing of Waynes certified platinum Carter 3. We kicked it in the room and he talked about how he transforms for his public right before a show.
Teruo's number one street ambassador Proph gets through security at the HOB (rarely happens without having to tuck my wallet chain in the bushes..lol) I proceed upstairs to the VIP and label area with more bracelets than a Punky Brewster Halloween costume. Let the show begin.... Banner comes out to a 4pc band right after DJ SKee warms up the crowd with some Banner classics. He breaks right into a Pimp C shout out called "Suicide Doors" off of his new album "The Greatest Story Ever Told". He was definitely a different person than in the hotel room. I mean right as he breaks the band down into an Im from Mississippi blues chorus he runs circles on the stage and drops to his knees to rep his home town. The show was crazy. Just to some it up I saw him hop of stage tear a active fans shirt wide open then head bang to a Nirvana cover run across the floor grab a stool stand in the middle of the crowd and make them shout Banner. Then he jumped off the speakers on to an unsuspecting (LARGE) record reps shoulders almost killed him but stayed on his shoulders to rock a song. After that he damn near killed himself doing "Like A Pimp" while hangin off the outside railing of the unprotected upper deck shouting Julie Pilat (KIIS FM) I would Kill for you. Banner shut the lights off and had the audience pray before he broke into a speach about racism and the future of our country. This dude needed an ambulance after this show. It was easly the most energetic heart filled show this Teruo Boss has ever seen. Bottom line shout out to D-Banner and his insurance company ya dig.
