The real Hulk!

Teruo was in the building again last week for David Banner's performance at the House Of Blues. I met up with my peeps from the station and The Firm at Banner's room a suite at the Mondrion (RIP PIMP C) across from the HOB. I step up in the spot and several websites are shooting video segments one at a time asking Banner about the new album, cartoon and the check from Lil Wayne's album. My favorite response was that he had just bought a chokain whit Phantom and its parked out front from publishing of Waynes certified platinum Carter 3. We kicked it in the room and he talked about how he transforms for his public right before a show.

Teruo's number one street ambassador Proph gets through security at the HOB (rarely happens without having to tuck my wallet chain in the bushes..lol) I proceed upstairs to the VIP and label area with more bracelets than a Punky Brewster Halloween costume. Let the show begin.... Banner comes out to a 4pc band right after DJ SKee warms up the crowd with some Banner classics. He breaks right into a Pimp C shout out called "Suicide Doors" off of his new album "The Greatest Story Ever Told". He was definitely a different person than in the hotel room. I mean right as he breaks the band down into an Im from Mississippi blues chorus he runs circles on the stage and drops to his knees to rep his home town. The show was crazy. Just to some it up I saw him hop of stage tear a active fans shirt wide open then head bang to a Nirvana cover run across the floor grab a stool stand in the middle of the crowd and make them shout Banner. Then he jumped off the speakers on to an unsuspecting (LARGE) record reps shoulders almost killed him but stayed on his shoulders to rock a song. After that he damn near killed himself doing "Like A Pimp" while hangin off the outside railing of the unprotected upper deck shouting Julie Pilat (KIIS FM) I would Kill for you. Banner shut the lights off and had the audience pray before he broke into a speach about racism and the future of our country. This dude needed an ambulance after this show. It was easly the most energetic heart filled show this Teruo Boss has ever seen. Bottom line shout out to D-Banner and his insurance company ya dig.

Say What Wednesday #3: Grippers vs Slippers

Sometimes it’s a choice. Other times, it’s a lifestyle. Such is the case with this Wednesday’s topic: Slippers vs. Grippers. Unless your as multi-faceted as a Teruo Artist, you probably don’t do both. Regardless, here’s the breakdown:

Saul Good
Slippers (Hawaiian for Flip Flops)
Because the yaba-daba-doos like the sunshine too. Picture yourself top-down, beats bangin, hair blowin in the the wind. Now apply that image to the little hairs on your toes. Same concept. Ten tan toes that don’t stink and a laid back statement telling the world you’ll get there when you feel like it. That’s why we live in the flip flops.

P-Lo da Driva
"When you take him to the Gucci store show him the loafs" - Styles P

That's me right there. Ever since I saw my dad in his 76 Porsche Spider with his Salvatore loafers on and said, "daddy what are those". That day I learned the swagger of the driving shoe. When I pull up to the spot hop out the Jag with a leather shoe only crafted to touch other expensive surfaces, that's when you know you just saw a Boss.

Say What Wednesday #1: Fitted vs Fedora

Saul Good:

FITTED
The fitted cap is versatile. You can dress it up, dress it down, backwards,
forwards, sideways, flipped-up brim (if you wanna look like a barney). Wear
to the ball game and out to the club, you'll never look out of place with a
dope fitted hat on. You try to rock a fedora mid-day or at a sports arena,
and you get to be "that guy." Don't do it. Stay fitted, stay low-key, stay
cool.

Prophet:
Fedora

I want that throwback detective, old man gangsta, sophisticated boss look. My grandfather use to look so damn cool with his cigar and his Fedora with an 8 degree lean on his brow. I use to steal it before church and pose in the mirror. i dress them down with jeans and a T or you can Boss up with cuff links a collar and some cognac ya dig. Fedora means different...risky..and confident in not looking like a everyone else...you bz

RedBelt

Prophet your favorite Teruo representative reporting live from the Egyptian theatre in Hollywood for the premier of a Mixed Martial Arts film titled “Red Belt”.With an all star MMA cast like Randy Couture, John Machado, Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini, Max Martini and acting anchors such as Chiwetel Ejiofor and David Paymer it was deff interesting.

The story…
Redbelt is an upcoming action movie written and directed by David Mamet. As of July 2007, the film is in production, with many of the action sequences being filmed at the Pyramid in Long Beach. The film will be released in the USA on May 9, 2008.
The film concerns Mike Terry (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and self-defense instructor who imparts upon his students the skills to survive on the street, rather than prevail in sports combat. A series of circumstances brings Terry in contact with popular movie hero Chet Frank (Tim Allen) and a legion of Hollywood movers and shakers. Terry soon finds himself the victim of a con and, combined with a destitute financial situation, is pressed to enter the ring for pride and profit.
Mamet, himself a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and UFC aficionado, has described Redbelt as a samurai film in the tradition of Kurosawa 1. He has employed the resources of several members of the MMA community in the making of the film; Randy Couture and Enson Inoue have acting roles in the film, as does Jean Jacques Machado's brother John Machado who also planned some of the fight choreography.
David Mamet has earned the rank of purple belt under the tutelage of Renato Magno, who also served as the film's jiu-jitsu consultant.

Ok so the movie was on medium status it was more drama than action. I needed to see a few more arm bars for me to really respect this joint. The fact that I was Muchado and family’s guest means that that’s as much criticism I’m gonna give.lol

The best part of this premier was the old school low budget food services. They had carnival style hot dogs, pretzels and cookie stands. The red bull sponsored full bars deff didn’t hurt though ya dig.lol

Shout out to Kene G for the behind the scenes access. yeee

Killa Karlifornia

Teruo Artistry's Blog Boss Prophet ran up on the scene of Karli aka Karli from the block (KIIS FM) aka Karli of MTV 3's hit show Karlifornia to show some love last week. This show aimed at showing young teens how to empower them selves in life or career surrounding the entertainment field. This episode was close to home in that they brought in kids from my favorite non-profit A PLACE CALLED HOME in South Central. These kids got a chance to attend and participate in an on air workshop on how to be a talk show host. Karli walked through what its like to be on camera, lighting , cue's and all the elements necessary to be your best on camera. For some of these kids it was their only shot at getting that career deciding glimpse into what it is to be in the entertainment industry. Shout out to my home girl Karli for always creating in true Teruo style. Shout out to JP for the behind the scenes access.

Mosh-Proph-tatoes

Proph officially got his Rage Against The Machine on rocking custom TTW hand painted joints this Saturday. It was for a Rock/Rap mashup project Im working on with Forrest and his band called "Omission"( www.myspace.com/omissionmusic ). We blazed the roof on this little dive bar called Safari Sams on the anti-Hollywood side of Sunset. Its a little dark stain in a giant parking lot for the biggest 99cent store I have ever seen.lol It was dope though cuz I could run in to the 99cent joint and grab some Grape Fanta for my gorilla skin congiac mixer aka my pre show Thizz Face maker. We opened up for this Band called "Whiskey Circus" that has shown us mad love on the shows and they always tear the house down. Omission had a full set where we fused 2 new joints that I co-wrote with the lead singer Forrest. The bands smooth lyrics and tight musicianship produced some of the most sonicly pleasing sounds I have heard on the LA underground. Not to blow my own whistle but when we rocked the songs I worked on them with the crowd got a taste of the future sound ya dig.lol All in all we flame broiled it...If you were there you saw if not you need to step your show attendance up. Stay tuned for more Proph-Mash-Up joints.

Keys to the soul

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Proph in the BLDG! Rocking a custom Japanese painted Teruo trucker at the private Alicia Keys concert. Bellavardo studios was the most intimate setting for an evening with the queen of soul Alicia Keys. With the industry only invite jumpin off kept the capacity to the low hundred or so. Alicia’s back up singer stoll the show early ya dig. He killed it coming out to the “Boys Of Summer” . Then about ten feet in front of me the blessed one on the Keys came out and ripped it from her classics to the new joints. She was so powerful and so close you could feel the power and energy from her heartfelt lyrics coupled with the soul of a past life on the piano. All in all Teruo Artistry’ Proph was in aww of one of our times most gifted artist. Shout out to Jay P-Eazy for a dope time.
